Greetings, art enthusiasts! I’m thrilled to invite you to an extraordinary printmaking workshop that will ignite your creativity and leave you with stunning, personal prints. I’m Nusye McComish, aka SouthSeaEyes Printmaker, and I’ll be your guide on this artistic journey. Join me at Aspex Portsmouth on the 25th of June 10:30am – 2:40pm for an engaging workshop where we’ll explore the beauty of battleship grey linoblock and rubber block techniques.

During this workshop, we’ll dive into the enchanting world of printmaking and unlock the charm of carving techniques to navigate the battleship grey and hessian-backed lino block techniques, as well as the versatility of rubber speedycut blocks. Together, we’ll create layered prints that will come to life on our exclusive, hand-bound sketchbooks. But this workshop is about more than just the physical act of printmaking. It’s an opportunity to delve into the therapeutic process of creativity, focusing on your mental well-being and the sheer joy of “making”. In our relaxed and welcoming space, you’ll find tranquillity and the freedom to explore, create, and uncover new passions.

Discover Your Art Printing Journal:

Throughout the workshop, we’ll transfer your unique designs onto our hand-bound sketchbooks, resulting in a beautiful art printing journal that reflects your artistic journey. Each page will capture the essence of your creativity, becoming a cherished keepsake of your artistic exploration. By the end of our time together, you’ll not only leave with a handcrafted print but also with enhanced skills and confidence in printmaking. You’ll be equipped with the knowledge and inspiration to continue your printmaking journey at home, bringing your creativity to life in your very own art printing journal.

A Communal Approach:

Aspex Portsmouth embraces a communal approach, inspired by the COMMUNAL program launched by Brighton CCA in 2018. This approach is about sharing resources and networks to build a more sustainable creative ecology. As part of Aspex workshop, we become an integral part of the creative community, contributing to the thriving creative ecosystem we’ve all cultivated. Your participation enriches the communal space and enables us all to provide valuable experiences like this SouthSeaEyes printmaking workshop.

Booking and Supporting the Community:

To secure your spot in this unique workshop, simply book your place for £50 per person, which covers all the materials you’ll need. As an arts charity, Aspex Portsmouth deeply appreciates any additional donations to support the mission in delivering a rich program of activities and events that benefit the local community.
