I did not have access to a printing press when test-printing this block of a child’s portrait; so I improvised: using a small tumbled stone for burnishing the finer areas of the carved lino block.
The test print showed areas which I had missed, or insufficiently refined for the child’s facial contour. True to my nature in always trying to find efficiencies, I re-carve as I go on, and re-inked the block to continue test print.
